I figured it necessary, with Sargon of Afraid’s group of Liberalists attacking the Alt-Right, to make the distinction between racial groups and ethnic groups. When these people make the point that there is no such thing as white people, many Alt-Righters don’t mention the facts of ethnicity versus race. Instead they make the point that no other group has this done to them.
While it is true that other racial groups aren’t divided into ethnic groups when leftists, liberalists, left leaning libertarians, and every other person consider their right to homelands. It is important to acknowledge the role ethnicity plays in these considerations. No one says that Africans don’t deserve to keep Africa, because they have ethnic variation.
This argument tends to rear its head when discussing the US as a white nation. The US is a unique entity in that it was formed by multiple ethnicities and one race. In so doing the American whites created an American styled ethnic group. That is less rooted in their ethnic groups than our European counter-parts. European nations were built upon ethnic groups. America’s history is riff with examples of them being a nation of free white men.
In order to clarify my position we need to define race and ethnicity.
Ethnicity is defined as:
(I take issue with a few of the definitions. Mainly, number three and seven. See when we study human variation, as in number three, it is no longer valid to divide groups by certain characteristics. However in number seven, when discussing animal variation it’s perfectly acceptable.)
The over all gist, is that race is a more genetic component used to describe peoples.
So without race you can’t have an ethnicity. As ethnicity is the culture, traditions, ect. of a particular racial group.
So when describing the white ethnostate in the US, we mean race not ethnicity. When whites come into America they integrate into the culture, learn the language, and become an American. In doing this over a period of a few generations they become a part of the American ethnicity which is racially white.
While a very loose definition of a group, the American ethnicity is of European descent, Christian, and speaks English. This is not a hard and fast rule, but the underlying assumption is that you are white and that you will become American.
When other racial groups immigrate they do not become American. They bring radically different IQ distributions, incompatible religious ideologies, diseases, and a myriad of issues with them. This prevents them from being a part of the American ethnicity, because they lack the genetic similarity of the majority racial group. We are trying to further the American ethnic groups’ interests in the US.
Anyways, explaining this difference is probably better than taking the “You only do that to whites” route. American whites are themselves an ethnicity of sorts. So we need not worry about pointing out the hypocritical nature of the arguments of our enemies. We just need to clarify our terms to prevent this kind of muddying of the waters.
